Radiohead 
Radiohead are possibly the greatest band in existence!! they aren't, er, normal, but some of the stuff they come up with is simply amazing. I own every one of their albums (even the little known "My Iron Lung" album which is actually a collection of B-sides). Everyone I know loves Ok Computer, but personally that isnt my favourite album. I think I prefer The Bends. Some of their music is just SO beautifully depressing, it makes me shiver. You know the feeling? The music just takes you, makes your hairs stand on end.
Radiohead have a lot of VIEWS. Like Anti-capitalism and so forth. They always say that they aren't a political band, but they are political people. Personally, I dont care, I just love their music! But, if you wanna know more, follow the link at the bottom of the page.

Stereophonics. Wow. I love them. They are the producers of what is possibly my favourite song, "Just Looking". They are rock, but they can be incredibly soulful. And even their (relatively) heavy stuff has a decent melody to it. I have recently bought their most recent album, "Just enough Education to Perform", and its amazing. I cant stop listening to it!!!
Stereophonics are a welsh band. Yes, I know, but I try not to hold it against them! Not when they produce music as classy as they do. The Stereophonics are one of the most popular of my bands amoungst my friends, as they can appeal to so many people. Their music has all sorts of different moods, not just depressing. Even if you aren't a fan of depressing music, I recommend that you give Stereophonics a listen. You may like them!

Everyone knows U2! they must be the oldest band that I like, they've been going for, oh, must be at least 20 years. But they are also really good. Their stuff isn't all slow depressing stuff, some of it can be surprisingly upbeat (for me) but they've all got a lovely melody, and real emotion behind the songs. Far better than all this crappy modern pop! With or Without You is a beautiful song, one of my favourites, and also popular with a lot of my friends. U2 have the benefit of experience, they KNOW good music. Trust me, they're great!

Silverchair is a relatively new addition to my musical tastes. And they are also very different to what I normaly listen to. Silverchair....... are HEAVY!! Ok, ok, so they dont scream or anything, but they are still definately heavy. Ive become well into them though. I don't really know why.... I think I like the singing. You havta be impressed by them though, cos they started at the tender age of 16! And even them, created one beast of an album. So, Silverchair are WELL good.... nearest thing I have to moshing music. (Although its not REALLY moshing music, cos, well, its me isn't it! I could hardly like TRUE moshing music) Anyway, um, buy them!

Since I discovered the joys of downloading albums off the internet, my music collection has kinda exploded! And one of these aquisitions are the truly brilliant Smashing Pumpkins. I own 4 of their albums, and ive only actually bought 1! Smashing Pumpkins vary, from very heavy to incredibly mellow, but they are generally chilled, relaxing music. They are very very good! However, I have heard from a very reliable source that they stormed off halfway through a gig because they thought the audience weren't trying enough, so pretty stroppy buggers!

"Stand Inside Your Love" - Smashing Pumpkins A Perfect Circle 
A Perfect Circle are WELL GOOD! They are like mellow Tool (Tool are a bizarre metal band that I really like as well, but not as much as A Perfect Circle) They are very accomplished musicians, and the singer, Maynard Keenan, is a god! Some of A Perfect Circle is heavy, some is mellow, but all is good! Try them, I know no-one that hates them!
